    I work in clinical trials. Lots of them. In my experience placebos lead to all manner of AEs and SAEs. The only thing worse is the active treatment.

    The best "treatment" I have seen of the placebo effect is the following "article"

    umvue, I don't know what an AE or an SAE is, but I guarantee that our top-quality placebos will, in a blind study, generate them at no higher rate than an inactive substance!

    Christopher, that's great!

    Mark, that's interesting!

    Pierre-Hugues, that is both great _and_ interesting!

    I am in an emphatic mood today! Go Giants!

    This ad makes untrue claims!

    Placebos DO have side effects.

    I'm not so sure about your guarantee in an individual trial.

    Placebo doesn't cause side-effects? It caused me severe iritation, depression and anger! I mean, have you even listened to 'Without You I'm Nothing'?

    @Peter
    God I hope I am being trolled.
    Just in case, you don't actually know what a placebo is, it's a medicine that doesn't actually do anything. They're usually made of sugar.
    If You get Side effects from sugar, you should probably go get tested for diabetes.
