Hats off for Martin Šmíra, who has finished porting the models from Michael Lee and Eric-Jan Wagenmakers’ book Bayesian Cognitive Modeling to Stan.
Here they are:
- Bayesian Cognitive Modeling: Stan Example Models
Martin managed to port 54 of the 57 models in the book and verified that the Stan code got the same answers as BUGS and JAGS.
W00T!
Cool. I see that the new edition of John Kruschke’s “Doing Bayesian Data Analysis” is subtitled “A tutorial with R, JAGS,and Stan” (The first edition was “… with R and BUGS”)
There’s a new chapter on Stan in the Second edition of Kruschke’s book. We’re chuffed to make the cover. Now I need to read it. And then blog it.
I don’t know if the models have all been translated, but presumably not. Anyone want to volunteer? We’re always happy to help with translations.
Great work! Somebody, please, give this guy a job!
I’m just reading the book and it feels like it was written ten years ago. BUGS/JAGS plus Matlab that’s soooo old-school.
