I have a post coming on 2 Mar on preregistration that I think you’ll like. It unifies some ideas regarding statistical design and analysis, and in some ways it’s a follow-up to my Borscht Belt post.

Are you preregistering your posts now? :)

Fair Dame. Fatal Lady. The Maiden All Forlorn. Nah. Those are dangerous. But he never imagined that Westlake was concerned with his safety.
That’s a weird post, better to email her, no!?

I think there are other readers of this blog who share Mayo’s interests.
Yeah – there are lots of amateur Epidemiologists here!
What a country!

You’ll have to blame Cosma Shalizi. Just about my entire knowledge of the literature of philosophy of science comes from my readings of Popper, Kuhn, and Lakatos. Around 2010 I wrote a paper on the philosophy of statistics, based on ideas that I’d been thinking about for 20 years or so, and I sent it to Cosma Shalizi asking him if he’d like to be a coauthor, as I had the (correct) impression that he was better read then I in the philosophy of science. Shalizi added references to Deborah Mayo and other philosophers who’ve worked in this area.
