I was linking to something and came across this hilarious thread, which culminated in this revelation by commenter Jrc:
True story: after reading this post, http://statmodeling.stat.columbia.edu/2011/01/12/picking_pennies/, I started going to the Jamaican store around the corner. I was eating a lot of those things by the end. Its probably good that we moved.
In Turkey you can buy Kokoreç in a bun, it’s chopped and (hopefully) washed lamb intestine.
The nickname for this in Istanbul is actually shit sandwich, but I forgot the Turkish word. It smells and tastes great though.
As an aside; a few weeks ago, stopped at a red light, I saw a $5 bill at the curb. My instinct was to open the door, grab the bill, and get in before the light changed. My wife was not pleased with said instinct. Her risk perception is heightened. In any case, it rather combined the two cliches.
She’d make a good Economist. EMH and all that.
